Norbert and I would just like to say a very big thank you, a heartfelt thank you for our incredible and wonderful weekend at the lodge. I would like to express my feelings as follows:
We arrived to smiles, a refreshing hand towel and a cool drink and very warm welcome after the traffic and dusty road, what a relief. On entry up to the lodge the first thing I noticed was the immaculate condition of the grounds, entrance and lodge. After all these years I must highly commend John and Susan for their warmth, care and pride in looking after W&F as this is clearly evident in the first impression on arrival, and such an important one. John and Susan are more behind the scenes but are right up front in the evidence of what they do and what an important role they play in maintaining the lodge, we were very impressed so thank you both!
Heidi and Jabu, bless them. Their hospitality, the service, the care, the generosity of giving of themselves – nothing was too much for them. The service and attention we received was of a standard expected at any five star lodge. They were on the ball, the attention to detail was there, the high touch and mostly their sincerity and commitment. Heidi was very attentive and caring. Jabu, I think his cuisine has just gotten better year on year. I remember that he was good, but wow, not this good ? Every meal was an occasion, well done Jabs! Heidi’s knowledge of the bush was also recognised on game drive and once again a HUGE thank you for the most incredible sighting at the dam with the buffalos and croc. This was definitely one of the highlights of the weekend. Although we can’t complain at all of the amount of game we saw, the drives were lovely. We even did some pooling!
And then the turn downs and the magical ‘tidy room’ we got back to after every time we were out. So comforting to come back into a neat, tidy and cared for bedroom, especially the turndown with special touches after dinner. Not to mention the special heart turn down last night made of petals and the beautiful flower arrangement in the bath when we got back after dinner. We really didn’t expect that, a real treat.
So thank you to all, to you Linda for the invitation and love, for a memorable weekend we will most certainly hold close to our hearts and recommend at every opportunity. Our prayer is that Wild & Free will continue to blossom, will be blessed and favoured by our Lord and that the occupancy will increase beyond expectation. This lodge and the people who care for it are too special to go unnoticed.
